Truck on fire near Kharbandhi BoD

On 20 February at around 11 AM, an Indian truck which was parked near the BoD in Kharbandhi caught on fire. The truck was on start mode. The truck was loaded with 21 tons of coal and was travelling all the way from Orissa in India towards Pasakha, Phuentsholing.

A 50 old driver, Muktar said that, the fire started from the engine and the incident took place when the truck was parked to collect the challan from custom office. He said that, “The khalasi and I were inside the truck when the truck caught on fire, however we could save ourselves by jumping from the truck.”

Police said that, the received the complaint at around 11:10 AM whereby in 30 minutes they could contain the fire before it spread to the body of the truck or the BoD.
