Last Friday at around 1:30 am Thimphu police received a complaint from a shopkeeper in Semtokha that they caught a boy stealing from his shop. Police on reaching the location found the boy had stolen five bags of edibles.
The 15-year-old boy confessed to police that nine school friends were involved in the burglary. Police arrested all the nine boys aged between 13 to 17 years old. All these boys are staying in a hostel.
The boys confessed to have committed the same crime three to four weeks ago and it was the second time they burgled the same shop in Semtokha. The group of students has burgled three shops so far. They entered the shops through the main door after breaking the lock. All of them are out on bail.
