His Majesty The King will celebrate the 109th National Day in Trongsa.
The historic town of Trongsa is aglitter with anticipation for the celebration, which will be the most important event to take place in Trongsa since His Majesty’s investiture ceremony as Trongsa Penlop 12 years ago.
Streets are spotless and festively decorated, and the best clothes and heirloom jewellery are being brought out to be worn on the special day, as people eagerly await the opportunity to receive His Majesty, His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, and His Royal Highness The Gyalsey in Trongsa.
The National Day celebrations in Trongsa will be broadcast live on Bhutan Broadcasting Service.
His Majesty’s Address to the nation will begin at around 9:45 am Bhutan Standard Time on Saturday, 17th December 2016.
The National Day this year is made all the more special as it is also the 10th Year of His Majesty’s Reign.
