A 17-year-old minor was raped by a 23-year-old man in the night of March 11 in Haa. The suspect was well known to the victim and her elder sister as he was a daily customer in the elder sister’s bar.
The victim had stepped outside the bar to wash dishes on the night. The suspect had followed her and then grabbed and pulled the victim to a secluded part outside of the house.
The elder sister, upon hearing some commotion, went to check on her sister, and was horrified to find her sister being sexually assaulted. The elder sister had immediately informed the police in Haa.
When the police had reached the crime scene, the victim was found in a traumatized state, unable to give her statement to police. The victim was then taken to Bali BHU for a medical examination. The medical report confirmed that the victim was sexually assaulted.
The accused was later arrested based on the medical report, but he has denied the allegations. The officer in-charge of Haa police station mentioned that their investigation and the medical report have revealed that the suspect had raped the minor.
It was reported that the suspect was in a drunkard state when the incident happened.
The suspect, from Dagana, works for a private firm in Haa. The victim is a class IV student. The victim is staying with her elder sister who is settled in Haa. This is the first rape case of the year reported in Haa, according to the police.
