6 Ambassadors present credentials

On 4th January, 2018 the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Belgium, Brazil, Republic of Korea, The Netherlands, and Viet Nam to Bhutan, presented their credentials to His Majesty The King at the Tashichhodzong today.

They then met the Prime Minister Lyonchhen (Dr) Lotay Tshering.

The Ambassadors are Mr. Ashraf Farhad Shikhaliyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Mr. Francois Gilles R. Delhaye, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium; Mr. Andre Correa Do Lago, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil; Mr. Marten Cornelis Van Den Berg, Ambassador of the Netherlands; Mr. Hu Kang-il, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea; and Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, Ambassador of Vietnam at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang.

Lyonchhen welcomed the Ambassadors to Bhutan and congratulated them on their appointment as the Ambassadors to Bhutan. Lyonchhen assured his full support in strengthening and promoting the friendly relations and cooperation with the countries.

Mr. Ashraf Farhad Shikhaliyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan previously served as the Director, Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Francois Gilles R. Delhaye, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium previously served as the Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Mr. Andre Correa Do Lago, Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil previously served as the Ambassador to Japan and is the Ambassador to India. Mr. Marten Cornelis Van Den Berg, Ambassador of the Netherlands previously served as the Director General of Foreign Economic Relations and is the Ambassador to India.

Mr. Hu Kang-il, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea previously served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Ireland and is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, Ambassador of Vietnam previously served as the appointed Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs.
