Are you an aspiring politician, a party leader? Then ECB has a training program for you

The Election Commission is organizing a three-day workshop for aspiring politicians and political parties from March 19 at Paro. The three-day workshop is led by BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Election), an international organization which conducts trainings on the electoral process.

“This project is ongoing from 2011 to 2013, helping the political parties to know our law and understand the importance of campaign” said the chief training coordinator of ECB, Kinley.

“So far we have received good number of response from the political parties,” he said.

The deadline for registration has been extended from February 29 as political parties were not aware of the program.

The program will cover subjects like theory and principles of a political party, code of conduct of political parties and public campaign.  The workshop will have training on how to frame a manifesto.

The workshop is funded by AusAID.

ECB will also hold a workshop on electoral administration from March 26 to 30.
