Bhutan receives much needed 3 CT scan machines from Japan

The Government of Japan handed over seven medical equipments for the national and regional referral hospitals to the Ministry of Health on friday. The total cost incurred for the equipment is around 4.5 million USD (Nu 306 million) inclusive of insurance, installation, operational training and maintenance service for four years.

The CT scan machine of 64 slice capacity and mammography machine was provided to JDWNRH while CT scan machines of 16 slice capacity each were provided to the two regional referral hospitals at Gelephu and Mongar.

Apart from CT scan machines for three hospitals, JDWNRH will also receive a Mammography for JDWNRH, Mongar hospital will receive an Electrocardiogram (ECG) Holter machine and spirometer and Gelephu hospital will get a digital x-ray machine.
