In celebrating Bhutan Telecom’s 50 years in service and 10 years of B-mobile services, Bhutan Telecom Limited (BTL) announced 19 Lucky winners during the lucky draw held on 25 February.
The winners are active B-Mobile customers both prepaid and postpaid, as of 21 February this year.
A BTL official said such an event was also held to commemorate His Majesty’s Birth Anniversary.
BTL today has more than 300,000 B-Mobile users. From there the numbers were picked randomly from a bingo basket. Through the random selection BTL picked 13 prepaid and six post paid numbers.
However the BTL official said to avoid conflict of interest BTL employees’ service connection numbers were not entered for the lucky draw which means BT employees were not eligible for the lucky draw.
Winners of the lucky draw were notified through SMS and announced through both broadcast and print media from 25 February onwards.
Winners who are post-paid mobile users were awarded with free unlimited mobile internet package for a period of one month and Nu 25,000 for the first category. For the second and third, the post-paid winners will receive Nu 15,000 and Nu 10,000 respectively.
As a consolation prize, three lucky post-paid users will also receive Nu 5,000 each. However for the pre-paid customers 10 lucky winners will receive Nu 4,500 and e-load of Nu 500 as a consolation prize.
The first winning number for the prepaid user will receive e-load worth Nu 4000 and Nu 21,000 cash.
For the second and third winner, BTL will award Nu 13,000 and e-load worth Nu 2,000 and Nu 9,000 and e-load worth Nu 1,000 respectively.
The General Manager of Marketing Division Deo Kumar Biswa, said lucky draw was held and prizes awarded just to remind people that BT cares for their customers and ‘BT is always there for you.’
The winners have to bring the mobile phone with valid SIM and identity card to claim the prizes. The prizes must be collected within 60 days from the date of draw and failure to collect the prizes within the instructed time would result in cancellation of the prizes.
Similar programs have been conducted by BTL even in the past. Meanwhile BTL had conducted a road show from 11 February covering most of the dzongkhags to celebrate its golden jubilee.
The General Manager of DrukNet division Tshering Norbu said that the road show is all about performances by celebrities and branding of BT services. At the same time the show will allow them to give marketing messages and BT offers.
A suggestion for BT. Please reduce your overhead and pass on the savings to all customers. Improve your brand image through better customer service and more reliable mobile network.
