Body of missing person recovered

A 27-year-old man from Bongo, Chukha, who was reported missing since April 24 from the border town of Phuentsholing, together with his vehicle, was found dead in Madu forest on May 6 at around 6 pm in the evening.

Madu forest is in Hasimara, 25 km from Phuentsholing.

Police sources said the deceased was lying face down on the ground below a tree. “The body was fully decomposed, which made it difficult to identify,” a source said.

The sister of the deceased helped to identify the body from his watch, boots and a water bottle, given to him by his wife on the day when he went missing.

Since the body was recovered from Hashimara, India, the case has been registered with Jaigaon police. After post mortem the body was handed over to his family.

The cause of death is yet to be investigated.

The vehicle, which the deceased was driving, is still missing.

The deceased is survived by his wife and child.
