The Speaker Tshogpon Jigme Zangpo said that the the last Parliament session of this Parliament would start from 15th June 2018 and end by around the first week of July 2018.
The main focus of this short session will be to pass a budget that can fund the current expenditure and also ensure some capital budget for the ongoing activities of the 11th plan.
However, the speaker said that what type of budget will be passed will depend on the plenary session to be held by around 30th or 31st May.
The Opposition party has already indicated its Opposition to passing a budget arguing that there is a provision in the public Finance Act that allocates money without passing a budget.
Here the speaker said that the issue is not only a current expenditure like salaries etc but a budget would be need to be passed to fund the ongoing 11th plan activities like Wangdue Dzong construction, Pemagatshel Dzong construction, East-West Highway among other important activities.
Apart from the budget government agencies will report to the National Assembly on steps taken to reduce waiting time at the JDWNRH and also improving nutrition in the school feeding program.
