Chickenpox hits 50 students in Bumthang

50 students from Tang central school got infected by chicken pox.

Several symptoms like redness scattered across the body was noticed, along with complain of fever and nausea. The BHU health assistant said although the number of cases are seen each day, various precaution measures are taken by the schools as well by the BHU.

He said that no severe cases has been reported and there was no drastic increase in the spread though the disease is very contagious. He said chickenpox usually takes 7 to 10 days to completely recover and that the chances of getting more severe symptons could be few to none.

“I can see that the school health authority and principal are taking the measure seriously and isolating the students who are infected with the disease,” he said.
