A Farm shop each in Khatoed and Khamoed Gewogs were were opened on Friday. The chief guest for the occasions was the MP of Khamoed Lunana.
A release from the Dzongkhag said, “Farm shops will transform our farming from subsistence to commercial through increased production with guaranteed markets, better provision of farm inputs, services and basic household items at fair price.”
Farm shops are specially more useful to places like Gasa where accessibility is still a challenge. In about couple of weeks time Gasa will opening another one in Lunana thereby making for 100 % coverage. Laya farm shop is already in operation since January 2016.
