On the evening of 20 January in Wangduephodrang Kinley Penjor, 45 was stabbed to death by his father-in-law.
The incident had taken place at Bartshi of Khasi gewog in Wangduephodrang.
According to sources, how the incident happened, was not known but sources said it is learnt that the victim was drunk and had provoked the father-in-law who was at home along with his daughter.
The father in law, Ap Jouchu who is believed to be between 75-78 years of age had stabbed the victim on various parts of the body.
Three different stab wounds were found on the body of the victim.
It is said that the victim had died on the spot while the accused was taken to the Wangduephodrang BHU and is said to be recovering. The accused had sustained minor injuries.
The incident was reported to the police immediately by the victim’s wife. Both the victim and the accused are farmers by occupation.
The case is currently under investigation by the police.
