Bjokha gewog busy with orange business

Bjokha people under Zhemgang Dzongkhag are busy with their sale of oranges in the market.

The gewog has about 137 households, out of which 100 households are into the business every year at this time of the year.

Orange businesses are done at two places, in Yangbari and Panbang side. Two chiwogs Chabdempa and Batpung do their business toward the Yangbari side.

Chabdempa chiwog has 16 households and there are 25 households in Batpung.

And three chiwogs of Kamachi, Jali and Trong do their business in Panbang, while Kamachi chiwog is also seen doing business toward Yangbari.

The gewog Gup Tshering Wangchuk said most of the people are found doing business in Yangbari because they are able to sell their oranges at good price whereas in Panbang they get only half of Yangbari’s price.

Farm roads for three villages in Samkhar gewog

 

Three farm roads for Rangshikhar, Khapte and Bikhar chiwog are under construction in Samkhar gewog.

According to the Gup Sonam Dorji these chiwogs had their road till main village.  But most of the agricultural activities are done on the outskirts of the villages.

Therefore the roads are mostly extended from the existing roads to the outskirts of the villages.

Gup Sonam Dorji said that these road constructions are under the 10th Five Year Plan.

The road for Bikhar community is almost completed and budget allotted for it was Nu 0.5mn. However, the budget for other roads is not estimated though the feasibility survey is completed.

The new road will benefit more than 400 households.
