From the Gewogs and Dzongkhags

Tough terrain a barrier to upgrading schools

Upgrading schools till lower secondary remains an unfulfilled dream for the people in the gewog because of the geographical terrain of the area. As of now, the gewog has only two community schools so the students have to leave the gewog in order to pursue higher studies. “Though we all are in favor of upgrading schooling, the landscape doesn’t”, said the gup, Dechen Yeshi. (Tashi Deki)

Lunana temporarily disconnected

Three villages in Lunana -Relo, Hayde and Thayga consisting of 45 households have lost mobile connectivity for  the past week, according to Gup Gyem Tshering.   They believe that the harsh weather is hindering the mobile connectivity. “Heavy snow fall and cold breeze has disturbed the connectivity,” said the Gup. The problem was conveyed to the concerned  authorities but they were just asked to check the system which is a temporary  measure.              (Thinley Wangmo)
