His Majesty The King was in the State of Kuwait on a Royal Visit from 16th January to 19th January.
His Majesty The King arrived in Kuwait on the morning of 16th January, and was received by the Crown Prince of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace.
During the visit His Majesty met the Royal Family and senior Kuwaiti government officials. His Majesty also met with the Bhutanese community in Kuwait.
This year marks the 40th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Kuwait.
His Majesty The King granted an Audience to the Bhutanese living and working in Kuwait on 17th January evening. There are over 3,500 Bhutanese living and working in Kuwait, and approximately 5,300 Bhutanese in the Gulf countries.
During the Royal Visit to the State of Kuwait, His Majesty The King met with the Kuwaiti Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on January 17.
His Majesty also met Royal Family members and senior government officials, including the former Prime Minister of Kuwait, H.H Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is a longtime friend of Bhutan.
The Royal Visit to Kuwait concluded on 19th January.
