Medical professionals have ruled out foul play in the death of a 33-year-old man from Jigmecholing who was found hanging in his room on the morning of October 2.
He had used his kera (traditional cloth belt) to hang from a ceiling beam 10 feet from the floor.
Police believe the man might have taken his own life on October 1. His death was noticed only the next day at 6:30 in the morning when his mother returned home from her elder son’s house where she had gone for the Dassain celebration.
The 33-year-old man was alone when he decided to take his own life.
There were no external injuries except ligature marks around the neck. The body was handed over to the mother after completing the formalities.
The cause of the suicide is not yet known.
