The earthquake that struck Bhutan on Wednesday at around 7.55 pm did not cause any major destruction in the country.
The Department of Disaster management in the country has collected and compiled the data from all 20 Dzongkhags to confirm this.
While there is no damage reported in most of the Dzongkhags that there are minor cracks in 3 houses in Radhi Gewog, under Tashigang and minor cracks in 6 houses in Yallang Gewog under Trashiyangtse.
According to the sources from the Dzongkhag Disaster Management office, there is no injury and causality reported from any of the Dzongkhags.
The epicenter of that particular earthquake was 46 miles southeast of Mawlaik, Myanmmar at a depth of approximately 84 miles and it measured 6.9 on the Richer Scale. The deep depth of the quake prevented extensive damage.
It was not only the Bhutanese people who felt the tremors of it but tremors were also felt in the eastern Indian states of Assam, West Bengal, Nepal and in Bangladesh.
