The Phuentsholing municipality has hauled out new capital developments in the town this financial year in different places.
All these works would be implemented within 30 June this year.
The municipality is upbeat about the construction of a new road and the construction and commissioning of new water supply in Gurung dara near Pasakha area.
There are again some improvement and maintenance works on existing roads in central part areas and in the extended areas of Kabreytar and in Damdara areas.
An engineer under the Phuentsholing, municipality Devi Charan Dhimal said “Some of the new constructions of urban infrastructures are an overhead pass, pedestrian bridge over Omchhu River, road improvement by dense bituminous macadam (DBM).”
And in the town areas there are again some new constructions on footpaths, drainages, children’s/community parks. The Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded works are underway in the parking space where the works have already started in Kabreytar and in some of the extended areas.
Moreover maintenance works are ongoing on some of the new existing roads which lead to industrial areas.
“Construction of parking area for the trucks is also in progress because there is very little place for parking for the heavy vehicles in the town,” said Devi Charan Dhimal.
There is also a construction of new compound fence to cover up the main sheet of sewerage plants.
According to the engineer “Construction and commissioning have started for all the independent water supply sources along with the supply line to the College of Science and Technology (CST) in Rinchending. And some new preparations of structural plans of the municipality are also underway.”
