Norzin Lam pedestrianised for three days to celebrate HM’s 39th Birthday

In order to commemorate His Majesty the King’s 39th Birth Anniversary, Thimphu Thromde has organized various events along the Norzin Lam and Thimphu Clock Tower starting from 21st- 23rd February.

The Royal Bhutan Police has issued that the road stretch from Norzin Lam gate to the Main Traffic will remain closed for vehicular traffic from 1900 hours on 20th Feb 2019 till 0600 hours on 24th Feb 2019.

The traffic from Chang Lam (Mandala) roundabout to Main Traffic will be designated as two ways during the 3 day event. Parking in front of Thromde office and in between Main Traffic and Chang Lam (Mandala) roundabout will be not allowed, as per the Royal Bhutan Police.

The vehicle-free stretch has been turned into creative spot for the youth and kids alike to try their skills and hang around without having to worry about being run over by the ever hasty taxi drivers. Parents expressed their appreciation for a vehicle-free stretch, even if for few days so that their children can engaged in creative arts and spend time around freely.
