The former Lyonchhen, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, received the highest votes from the Sombaykha constituency in Haa with 1,690 total votes (1,132 EVM + 558 PB) followed by DPT with 315 votes (212 EVM+ 103 PB), DNT with 312 votes (208 EVM + 104PB) and BKP with 103 votes (77 EVM + 26 PB).
Likewise, from Bji-Katsho-Usue constituency, PDP stood first with 1,185 total votes (826 EVM + 359 PB). DNT with 964 votes (732 EVM + 244 PB), BKP with 441 votes (309 EVM + 132 PB). DPT secured the least from a constituency with just 370 votes (302 EVM + 68 PB).
DNT candidate from Bji-Katsho-Usue constituency, Ugen Tenzin, said that, his top priority for his constituency is to extend, maintain and improve the road quality. He said, to make it easier for the commuters to travel, there is a need to construc a road towards Paro from upper most Bji gewog via through Sagala (Talung). “For now, the road through Chelela is not easy,” he said.
DPT candidate, Sonam Tobgay, said that he lost against his other opponents because he came out as a candidate quite late and it was difficult for him to get votes.
He said that he has nothing to do with other parties or with the candidates. However, he said, “I have given everything up and came in the front. Now, I will leave everything up to the people because by now people know who to choose and why to choose.”
He also said that he comes from a humble family, whereby after knowing every hardship faced by the people, he wanted to contest and help people as best as he could.
