The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) achieved significant victories in both constituencies of Trongsa, amassing a total of 2,744 votes, comprising 1,676 Electronic Votes (EVM) and 1,068 Postal Ballots (PB).
PDP’s Namgay Dorji of Draagteng Langthil constituency won with 1,695 votes (1,109 EVM and 586 PB). The registered voter count was 6,492, resulting in a turnout of 4,341.
Namgay Dorji said the voters wanted to seek a better alternative and turned to PDP due to PDP’s past accomplishments.
As one of the senior founding members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Namgay Dorji expressed satisfaction with the support received.
The Bhutan Tendrel Party (BTP) secured the second position with a total of 869 votes.
Phuntsho Dhendup emerged victorious in the Nubi Tangsibji constituency, garnering 1,049 votes (567 EVM and 482 PB) out of 4,774 registered voters, with a turnout of 3,174.
Phuntsho Dhendup attributed his success to the faith in the party president and the party itself, emphasizing their commendable track record in fulfilling mandates. He also highlighted his personal contributions as a former branch manager in BDBL, Trongsa, where he endeavored to assist constituents and maintained close ties with the local community even after his loss in the previous election.
Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) secured the second position with a total of 618 votes from the constituency.
