PM meets with Ambassadors from Belgium, Egypt and Poland

Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay met H.E. Mr. Jan Luykx, Ambassador of Belgium to Bhutan at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang yesterday morning.

Congratulating the Ambassador on having presented his credentials to His Majesty the King today, Lyonchhen expressed that he looked forward to working with the ambassador and build closer ties with Belgium during His Excellency’s tenure.

Lyonchhen and Ambassador Luykx discussed on collaborating in areas of mutual interests such as renewable energy and bio-economy.

The ambassador of Egypt to Bhutan H.E. Mr. Hatem El sayed Mohamed Tageldin called on to Lyonchhen TsheringTobgay at Gyelyong Tshogkhang on 5th March 2015. The ambassador said that he is very ‘honored’ to be the second ambassador of Egypt to Bhutan and said that he will work towards continuing the cooperation between Bhutan and Egypt. Mr. Tageldin also expressed his appreciation for Bhutan’s role in the United Nation Peace Keeping Force.

On UN Peace Keeping Force Lyonchhen informed the ambassador that it was His Majesty the King who made it possible that a small country like Bhutan can contribute to global peace. Lyonchhen also thanked the Government of Egypt for providing scholarship in the field of foreign diplomacy and suggested if scholarships in the field of agriculture, archeology, tourism, economics and others could be provided to Bhutan.

Lyonchhen and the ambassador also discussed tourism and education library.

H.E. Mr. Tomasz Lukaszuk, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bhutan called on to Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay at Gyelyong Tshogkhang also on the same day.

Mr. Lukaszuk said that he is ‘fortunate’ to be the first ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bhutan and informed Lyonchhen that he has seen Lyonchhen at Vibrant Gujarat, which he considers to be one of the important forums.

Lyonchhen welcomed Mr.Tomasz Lukaszuk to Bhutan and said that there is a lot of good will between the two governments and its people. Lyonchhen also thanked the EU members for giving Bhutan access to EU aid.

Lyonchhen and the ambassador discussed Education and sustainable energy.
