Sarpang dzongkhag in the National Council (NC) elections went for 33 year-old Dhan Bahadur Mongar from Dekidling gewog and voted him as their representative for the upper house.
Dhan Bahadur Mongar secured total votes of 4,131. His EVM votes count is 3, 695 and Postal Ballots amounted to 436 votes.
The woman candidate from Jigmecholing gewog Sonam Doekar managed to secure 3, 855 votes.
The NC-elect’s main objective is to be a true representative of people and prove that he is their representative. He worked as an IT officer with Bank of Bhutan (BoB) and also worked as Director of Bright Life Institute of Management in Thimphu.
Dhan Bahadur Mongar has a Bachelors degree from Sherubtse College, Trashigang and he has an M.Sc (IT) from Madras University, India.
Sarpang has 12 gewogs and the Dzongkhag has more than 25, 888 eligible voters with 13, 041 male voters and 12, 847 female voters.
