In a span of two days Thimphu police apprehended five people in connection with possession of controlled substances. Police seized from them 123 capsules of SP, 23 tablets of N10 and 2.77 grams of hashish.
On 24 January at around 9:50 pm police apprehended two men in their early 30s from a snooker room. Police found 60 capsules of SP and 13 tablets of N10 from the two men of which one is unemployed while the other is a schoolteacher.
On 25 January police apprehended three people from three different places. A 35 years old man was apprehended from Hong Kong market carrying 11 capsules of SP and 10 tablets of N10. Around five pm two men aged 29 and 24 were apprehended from a hotel in Hong Kong market with 2.77 grams of hashish and 4 capsules of SP. Around the same time another two men aged 22 and 23 were apprehended near the Thai Pavilion with 48 capsules of SP.
All suspects have been detained for further investigation while some were forwarded to BNCA for counseling and rehabilitation. Most of them are private employees.
