Supreme Court Judge Honoured by Law College in Delhi

Supreme Court Judge, Justice Rinzin Penjor of the Maja (Peacock) bench was honoured by the Campus Law Center in Delhi University with the Distinguished Alumnus award on 12th August.

The function was attended by the Bhutanese Ambassador in Delhi V. Namgyal, professors, students and dignitaries from other Universities.

Campus Law Center offers a three years law course after graduation and is a well known law college in India.

Justice Rinzin Penjor joined the government in 1989 as a legal officer in the High Court and was appointed a District Judge in 1998. He became the Attorney General in 2008 and in 2010 became a Supreme Court Judge.

He will be the first Bhutanese Judge to be given such an award by the College in recognition of his successful career and contribution to law.

The Bar council of India, High Court and Supreme Court also hosted dinners for him. Justice Rinzin Penjor said that he was overwhelmed with the honour.
