Thimphu police arrested the ‘monk’ involved in lewd and lascivious conduct

The recent video clip circulating on social media wherein a certain person is seen engaged in lewd and lascivious conduct during a religious ceremony has created furor among the public. Such conducts are inarguably not part of our accepted religious norms and practices.

In this connection, Thimphu Police has arrested the persons including the complicit responsible for making and circulating the video clip on social media and they will be prosecuted to the court under relevant sections.

It may be clarified that the person is not registered with or linked to the Zhung Dratshang.

Furthermore, all are advised not to share or circulate the video clip in any of the social media platforms, notified the Royal Bhutan Police.
