Thimphu police bust 34 people for drugs within 45 days

Starting from 1 March until 13 April, Thimphu police has arrested 34 people for abusing drugs, illicit trafficking and for possession of tobacco products.

Out of 34 suspects, 28 were arrested for abusing drugs while 5 people were arrested for illicit trafficking. In addition, one arrest was made for possession of tobacco products.

The abusers are between 17 to 29 years of age, while the age range of illicit traffickers are between 26 to 38 years. Of the total arrests, 2 are women who got arrested for abusing drugs.

From the total arrests,

police have seized 3,832 capsules of SP+, 100 packets of Classic Wills cigarettes and 170 packets of Navy Cut cigarettes. 28 abusers were forwarded to BNCA for TAP whereby 6 were detained for further investigation.
