Thimphu police have arrested three men on grounds of larceny.
The suspects a 20-year old security guard from Monggar and a 20-year old driver from Wangdue were arrested on March 30 for robbing Nu 0.5 mn from a car in Semthokha on March 21.
According to the victim’s statement, he was supposed to deposit the money in the bank but the system was down at the time. The car parked in front of his residence was open the next morning and the money was missing.
The suspects were found loitering around his home the same day and have left for Phuenstholing after the act.
According to the police, the two suspects had taken along with them a 37-year old painter from Hongtsho for shopping. Police are still investigating if he is innocent.
Authorities recovered Nu 72,710 and have seized a 22-inch Sony LCD TV, one Nokia iphone, a woofer set and some bags of clothes and shoes from the suspects.
The suspects are first-time offenders.
