Two arrested for stealing and attempting to strangle a goat

Gelephu police apprehended two cousin brothers, aged 17 and 18 years, from Lekithang, Sarpang, on the morning of 28 August both of whom were suspected of stealing a goat.

The livestock owner, a 58-year-old man, filed a police complaint at around 9:30 am of 27 August alleging that the cousins had stolen his goat worth around Nu 10,000.

Police said the suspects had strangled the goat at Jigmecholing, where they live in an attempt to silence the bleating goat. The next morning police apprehended the teenagers from Jigmecholing.

The goat is alive and fine and the owner is happy to have the goat back.
