Two minors arrested for van theft

Thimphu police have detained two minors, aged 13 and 15, who took a van belonging to a workshop owner and drove to Dawakha, Paro, to meet relatives.

The workshop owner lodged a complaint on the morning of 19 November that his van had been stolen the night earlier.

The boys told police they took the van and went to meet their relatives in Dawakha. Police said that on 19 November, Chuzom police spotted the van returning from Dawakha. The boys crashed on the return journey and caused minor damage to the van.

Police said they have called the parents of the two suspects to verify their age.
