Two stabbed on Losar

A 19-year old boy is fighting for his life in the Thimphu Hospital after being stabbed in the head, back and arm with a knife on February 22.

The class-X student of Motithang Higher Secondary School was stabbed above the vegetable market when he was going out to play football in Chubachu School. Someone struck him on the head from behind for no  apparent reason and knifed his arm and back.

According to the father, the boy came home bleeding and as soon as he  saw his son, he rushed to the site where the incident had taken place. He chased the boys till the Telecom Office near Centenary Farmers Market but then the miscreants disappeared into the dark.

“I don’t know why he was stabbed,” said his father adding that his son would never harm anyone and had not been involved in any crime till now.

According to the hospital, the student suffered multiple wounds to the head and back.

Another 27- year-old man was referred from

Wangdiphodrang to the JDWNRH and was operated upon, early in the  morning on February 23. The man suffered stab wounds on his abdomen with bowel injuries.
