Vehicle accident leads to seizure of illicit substance

A 27-year-old man from Khaling, Trashigang was arrested at around 9pm on  June 1when the Bolero pick-up he was driving hit  and damaged two Alto cars.

The accident took place when the suspect was reversing his vehicle at Changedhaphug, Thimphu.

Police spotted the driver throwing something from the Bolero while escorting the driver and his vehicle to city police station.

Immediately upon checking, they found and seized 73 capsules of Spasmo-proxyvon (SP). The driver tested positive for Marijuana and benzodiazepine through a urine test.

The vehicle has been impounded and the suspect is detained for further investigation.
