Some gewogs under Dagana are still having problems with the rural water supply scheme (RWSS) that were put in place.
Many villagers say they feel awkward to come forward and speak about problems they face in their daily lives, and therefore, the issues remained unaddressed.
The water supply in Kawathang, Pangna, Patala Pangserpo, and especially in Bodhithang are bad. The water pipelines have either been destroyed beyond repair or damaged.
According to a resident, a former Gup Sherab Dorji, 37, the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) carried out a lot of developmental works, but some promised have not been met, like the new town planning, a training centre and gewog centre fencing.
“When some of the residents approached me about the water problems I took the public grievance to the gewog administration. But none of the officials in the gewog tried to understand, instead the former Gup rejected the proposal of the roads too,” he said.
Sherab Dorji said he even managed to get two Indian constructions firms, Gammon and Jyoti, to sponsors the new road, but with the rejection from Gup Thinley Wangchuk, nothing could be done.
