His Majesty The King is in Gelephu, where over the past two days His Majesty granted Audiences to the first and second cohorts of Pelsups, as well as to the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) teams.
On 4th December His Majesty met the first cohort of Pelsups, who are in the second phase of the three-month Pelsung Programme.
Having completed their DeSuung Training last month, they are now engaged in the innovation and GMC immersion phase. His Majesty also visited Sarpang Dzong and inspected progress at the Gelephu International Airport construction site.
On 3rd December, His Majesty granted an Audience to the second cohort of 350 Pelsups, who are currently undergoing the DeSuung Training — the first phase of the Pelsung Programme — with their Passing Out Parade scheduled for 5 December. His Majesty also met the GMC teams working across the various components of the project.
Pelsung is the flagship youth initiative of GMC, created to build a disciplined, capable, and future-ready generation. His Majesty has said the programme is intended to empower Bhutanese, strengthen unity and harmony, and ensure that Bhutanese themselves become the custodians of the country’s long-term vision. In a small population, every individual matters, and Pelsung aims to give young Bhutanese the skills, mindset, and responsibility needed to lead Bhutan’s future.
