His Majesty The King visited the areas that were hit by the flash floods in Kabjesa, Punakha and met with the people who had been affected yesterday.

His Majesty granted Kidu Soelra to the families who had gathered at the Thudrup Lhakhang.

The flash floods on June 4 washed away paddy and chili fields, covered fields with sand, and destroyed irrigation channels in Wokhuna, Betekha and Rangsikha villages in Kabjisa gewog, affecting 45 households.

His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen offered prayers at the Thudrup Lhakhang.

His Majesty The King also visited Punakha Higher Secondary School and Kabjisa Middle Secondary School, and met with students and teachers.

Yesterday, His Majesty granted an audience to the 8th batch of DeSuung volunteers, who are undergoing the DeSuung training programme in Tenchholing, from 10 to 29 June.
