Ambassador of Norway to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Eivind S. Homme called on Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay, yesterday at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang.
Lyonchhen and Ambassador Homme discussed on the global climate change, environment conservation through substituting fossil fuel use with more sustainable and renewable forms of energy, promoting the use of electric vehicles to curb carbon emissions and strengthening democratic principles over time.
Lyonchhen and the Norwegian ambassador also talked about the successful democratic transition in Bhutan, which Lyonchhen said, is an attestation to the fact that ‘democracy can work and deliver’.
Conveying the best wishes of the government of Norway to the Prime Minister, the ambassador said that it gives him great satisfaction to see Bhutan and Norway enjoying a remarkable bond of friendship that has strengthened over the years. He assured Norway’s continued support, cooperation and friendship in the times to come.
