The Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay signed the GPMS Performance Agreements with Wangdue Phodrang and Trongsa Dzongkhags on 7th April.
Lyonchhen reiterated that the performance agreements meant that the Dzongkhags would be able to identify and evaluate their performances by the end of the fiscal yearJuly 1, 2014–June 30, 2015.
Lyonchhen informed the gathering that the performance agreement comprised of a defined set of objectives and mandates to be accomplished within a year’s time. Based on the outcomes, the performers will be accredited whereas the non-performers will need to provide appropriate justifications as to why the targets were not achieved.
Lyonchhen reminded the officials of His Majesty the King’s wise words that to formulate policies were an easy task but to fulfilling them and making them materialize required dedicated hard work. Lyonchhen also stated that the officials must be committed toward curbing corruption and should put in sincere efforts to fulfil the aspirations of His Majesty the King and the people.
Meanwhile, Lyonchhen also held a discussion where the needs on providing quality education, proper food and essential nutritional requirements for children and increasing agricultural productivity were expressed.
