Second convocation for graduates of nine colleges

The second convocation for graduates from nine colleges across the country is being held today at the Royal Thimphu College.

At the event, His Majesty the King, as Chancellor of the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) will award the degree certificates to the college graduates. About 2,388 graduates will participate in the joint convocation of the RUB.

Recipients of the certificates include graduates from the College of Natural Resources, College of Science and Technology, Gaeddu College of Business Studies, Institute of Language and Cultural Studies, Jigme Namgyal Polytechnic, National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Royal Institute of Health Sciences, Royal Thimphu College, and Sherubtse College.

There are 179 graduates in the Bachelors of Engineering category, 519 for Bachelor of Arts, 476 for Bachelor of Science, 370 for Bachelor of commerce, 241 for Bachelor of Business Administration, 443 candidates for Undergraduates Diploma, 139 candidates for Undergraduates’ Certificate and 21 candidates for Post Graduate Diploma in English.

This is the second RUB joint convocation for graduates. The first joint convocation was held in 2011.

Chairperson of the University, Vice-Chancellor of RUB, directors and senior faculty members among other will attend the convocation.
