More than a thousand teachers from Thimphu Dzongkhag and Thromde joined Lyonchhen and the Cabinet Ministers to Celebrate Teacher’s Day at the Royal Institute of Management in Thimphu on Teachers day.
The teachers were received by Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, Lyonpo Dorji Choden, Lyonpo D.N Dungyel, Lyonpo Lekey Dorji, Lyonpo Ngeema Sangay Tshempo and Lyonpo Dawa Gyeltshen at the entrance of the event venue with Tashi Khadar.
To mark the occasion results for lottery draws with exciting prizes were announced.
The Prime Minister also issued a special message talking about the importance of teachers in Bhutan and thanking them for their contribution.
The current government has been giving special emphasis on education with a series of programs from an education blue print to strengthening infrastructure through central schools.
