Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Thailand will be leading a 105-member delegation from Thailand between 14 to 17 November 2014 to celebrate the auspicious occasions of the 87fl’ Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand, 59th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of His Majesty the Fifth Druk Gyalpo and the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Thailand.
To celebrate these auspicious occasions the Royal Thai Embassy in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate in Thimphu will be organizing a reception on 14th November 2014 at Hotel Taj Tashi.
Commemorative postage stamps depicting Thai-Bhutan relations will also be launched by the Royal Thai Embassy during the reception.
On 15th November, 2014 a Thai-Bhutanese cultural program will be held at the auditorium of the Royal lnstitute of Management, Semtokha.
As part of the celebrations, a team of medical specialists from Thailand conducted a Surgical Eye Camp at Paro on 12th and 13th November 2014. The eye camp has benefited almost 160 Bhutanese patients suffering from eye disorder.
Diplomatic relations between Bhutan and Thailand was established in 1989; however contacts between the Royal Families of the two countries were established as early as 1985.
