Their Majesties grace GCIT Tech Innovation Showcase

His Majesty The King, Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen, and Their Royal Highnesses Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel and Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck graced Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology (GCIT)’s 2025 Capstone Tech Innovation Showcase 18 June 2025.

At the event, GCIT’s newly completed Multipurpose Hall was inaugurated in the presence of Their Majesties, alongside a 3D visual presentation of the hall produced by GCIT’s Studio K.

The central focus of the event was the Capstone Tech Presentations to showcase innovative projects addressing real-world challenges through cutting-edge technology. These included an AI-driven IoT solution to support sustainable Himalayan crawfish farming, developed in collaboration with Singapore-based partners. A helicopter reservation system, a blockchain-enabled land ledger transaction system, AI-powered ZhingScan farm and crop protection system, a 3-tier Architecture NHDCL facility management system, a fully functional blockchain-based national digital voting system with the blockchain developed from scratch by students, and the RAG Generative Intelligence NLCS Project were some of the student-developed projects showcased.

Upon Royal Command, Gyalpozhing College of Information and Technology was reorganized with a new curriculum to align with advances and opportunities in the 21st Century, and enable Bhutanese students to compete globally. The first batch of students who have completed the new curriculum are set to graduate this year.
