His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen were in Thailand on 29 October to pay respects to Her Late Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother of Thailand, and to convey personal condolences to His Majesty The King of Thailand.

Their Majesties offered a wreath and signed the book of condolences before the Royal Urn at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.

Later in the evening, Their Majesties joined His Majesty The King and Members of the Royal Family of Thailand for the royal merit-making and prayer ceremony for the late Queen Mother.

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit passed away on 24 October 2025 at the age of 93. The Kingdom of Thailand is observing a period of national mourning to honour Her Majesty, whose lifetime of service and compassion earned her the deep love and reverence of the Thai people.

Their Majesties’ presence in Bangkok reflects the close friendship between the Royal Families of Bhutan and Thailand, and the enduring bonds of respect and goodwill between the two nations.
