Many constructions begin for gewog

People in the gewog excitedly await the completion of a five kilometer farm road from Marthang Bridge to Marthang village.

Gup Sangay Pelzang said “we are really hoping for the best as the construction started since last year”. The budget allocated for the project is Nu 6,422,000.

A wall for which a Nu 400,000 budget is allocated is also under construction. The wall is mainly used for the farm road.

An MPH hall (meeting purpose hall) is also under construction and the budget allocated is Nu 2mn while a Renewable Natural Resources (RNR) center is under construction which is budgeted at Nu 493,000. The people of Dewathang have volunteered their assistance to build this RNR center.

A budget of Nu 500,000 has been allocated for the gewog’s Outreach Clinic (ORC) presently under construction.

New market sheds constructed

The gewog has finally completed the construction of market sheds in the Kerabari channel which started about 2 months back. The installation was supposed to be held on the second week of this month but due to some development activities and lack of vegetables the inauguration of the market sheds was postponed to end of the month.

The two new sheds constructed for a budget of Nu 757,000 will be useful for 12 shopkeepers.

A seven kilometers Rural Water Supply Scheme (RWSS) has been completed from Ghalleygoan to Dungkhar with a budget of Nu 6.3mn.

Other development activities are still under construction like the ORC (Out Reach Clinic) and the Extended Class rooms (ECR)

Election meetings to prepare gewog residents

With the approaching Election Day, meetings are being conducted to create awareness and give broader knowledge to the gewog residents. The meetings would also familiarize people on election procedures.

People of Yangneer gewog will come together for the election meeting on 26 November.

Gup Karma said, “This will be of much help for the people to understand since the Election Day is nearing and it will indeed make them more aware of the procedures during the day”.

More than 400 people are expected to participate in the meeting which will be conducted in Yangneer meeting hall. Officials from Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) along with Dasho Dzongrab and other officials will preside over the meetings.

The gewog has more than 500 households. The meeting is a day long program.
