PM meets acting Ambassador of US Embassy

Lyonchhen Dasho Tshering Tobgay met Ms. MaryKay L. Carlson, Charge d’Affaires (CDA), or acting Ambassador of the Embassy of the United States in Thimphu on 4th October. Lyonchhen offered condolences for the Las Vagas shooting.

Ms. Carlson commended Lyonchhen for his excellent speech at the recent United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and said that the American citizen shares Lyonchhen’s concerns on environment. She also commended Bhutan’s contribution in UN Peace Keeping (of UNPK). To this Lyonchhen said that UNPK is something Bhutan takes very seriously.

Lyonchhen thanked United States for providing different types of scholarship to Bhutanese and said that these scholarship gives Bhutanese the opportunity to get themselves exposed to American’s value and excellence.

Agreeing to work together in disaster preparedness Lyonchhen and Ms. Carlson also discussed environment, Bhutan for Life, Foreign Direct Investment, unemployment, tourism, health and world politics amongst others.
