Many Bhutanese people are looking forward to witness the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
The couple will be arriving in the country on 14th April. On the first day of their visit, the Royal couple will receive an audience from His Majesty The King at the Throne Room in Tashichhodzong.
After the audience the Duke and Duchess are going to attend an archery match at Changlimithang. They will also be meeting with differently able students from various schools and also with students from Draktsho and Ability Bhutan Society (ABS).
The evening will see the Duke and Duchess having a private dinner hosted by His Majesty the Kinga and Her Majesty the Queen.
On the second day, the couple will spend the whole day visiting Paro Taktshang and will then be leaving the country on 16th April.
During the visit of royal couple, 62 international media outlets along with 12 local media houses will be taking part in covering the couple’s visit. The Ministry of Information and Communication are yet to confirm the number of media coming from India from where another sizeable group is expected.
A few people this paper talked said that they are excited to see the Royal couple.
A private employee Tshering Dorji said, “I consider myself lucky this year because we first experienced the birth of The Gyalsey and now the visit of Royal Couple which is very exciting.”
He said, “I don’t know the history of the Royal couple but I am happy to know they are coming and I will make sure to learn more about them before their arrival in the country”.
Similarly, Adwa, a housewife said that, she is uneducated and knows nothing about the couple but she is as equally excited as others after hearing people talk about the visit.
“I will go and take a chance to see the couple and know more about their visit in Bhutan for the first time,” she said.
