The first ever RUB (Royal University of Bhutan) Inter College Literary Meet will be held at Gaeddu College of Business Studies (GCBS) from 28th – 30th June 2014.
The meet will see six college participate which includes host GCBS, co-organizer Sherubtse College, Samtse College of Education, Institute of Language and Cultural Studies, College of Natural Resources and College of Science and Technology. The event is an initiative taken by the students. Co-organizer Namgyel Dorji, a final year student said that the three day event is aimed to foster closer bond between the member colleges.
Participants will arrive at Gaeddu on 27th June and events will take place in the GCBS auditorium.
He added, “the meet may begin as a low-profile inter-college and/or intra-college event but the bigger dream behind the project is to bring our literary competency at a Regional Level and Global Level by promoting it on annual basis mainly focusing on the consistency of standards.
Events will include declamation, extempore, creative writing, oration, debate and quiz. It will be conducted for both English and Dzongkha language except for quiz competition.
The event will conclude on 28th June with certificate and price awarding for winners and participants.
The Vice Chancellor is expected to grace the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. The closing ceremony will be held in the college auditorium.
