His Majesty The King on 10th July installed Sachu Bumter at the site of the Wangduephodrang Dzong, where theUtse and the Kuenreyof the Dzong will be built.
The installation of the Sachu Bumter signifies the re-sanctification of a site and restores blessings to it. The reconstruction of the Wangduephodrang Dzong formally commenced on 28 January 2014.
Upon the Command of His Majesty The King, the dzong will be rebuilt mirroring its former architectural magnificence, while incorporating modern technology to make the structure more resilient. The LamNeten of theWangdue dratshang offered Yangbum to His Majesty and Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen for the long life and prosperity of Their Majesties.
The Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, senior government officials, dzongkhag and local government officials, and members of the Wangduephodrang Dzong Reconstruction Committee also attended the ceremony.
His Majesty the King in 2012 had granted Nu 200 mn through a Kasho for the reconstruction of the Wangduephodrang Dzong.
