On 10th May, Bongo and Darla gewogs under Chukha Dzongkhag were oriented for local governance.Two officials from Department of Local Government (DLG) and one from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) were in the gewogs to train the LG officials. According to the Bongo Gup Tashi Dorji, tshogpas, mangmis, Gaydrungs (Gewog drungpa), Gewog Administrative officer and Gups attended the programme. Over 20 participants learned about the roles and responsibility of the local governance, procedures to work on Five Year Plans and management of works in LG. “With this orientation we can now work effectively and develop the gewogs,” said the Bongo Gup. Similar programs were conducted in Chapcha and Jatsho.
