On 11 September at around 2 pm, Thimphu police apprehended a 33- year- old man in Thimphu. The suspect was arrested with the help of a tip off.
When police tried to get hold of him, the suspect managed to flee from the location. However, the police managed to arrest him from the forest above Hotel Riverview. Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having SP+ and N10 under possession in his car.
Police seized 7,416 capsules of SP+ and 160 tablets of N10 from him. The suspect tested positive for the drugs. He confessed to have brought the controlled substances from across the across the border.
The suspect will be charged for illegal trafficking of controlled substances. He is from Rubisa, Wangduephodrang. The suspect is under police detention for further investigation.
